Main Interface
Rising PC Doctor comes with an easy to navigate interface with the following seven tabs
Common Functions, Automatic Protection, Expert Tools, Online Assistance, Antivirus Software, Personal Firewall and Top Software.
On the “Home” tab you find the following menu items:

System tray icon
If you right click the tray icon of Rising PC Doctor the menu shown below will open up. This tray menu offers a quick and convenient way to enable/disable major functions of Rising PC Doctor. You can use the shortcut to open a browser window with the Rising website, to initiate an update or hide the software.

Update

Open the main window of Rising PC Doctor, click the “Update Now” link in the upper right of the window, or right click the system tray icon and select “Update Now”.

Network Settings
Open the main window of Rising PC Doctor.
Click “Connection” in the upper right corner of the window.
You can:
Access the network with Internet Explorer settings
Access the network via LAN or direct connection
Access network via proxy
When your proxy server requires authorization, you need to provide a user name and password.

Version Information
Open the main window of Rising PC Doctor. In the lower right corner of the window you can see the current version and the release date of the virus definitions used by your current version of Rising PC Doctor.

Uninstall
Click Start > Rising PC Doctor > Uninstall Rising PC Doctor.
To uninstall via Windows control panel, please execute the following steps:
1. Click Start >Settings > Control Panel
2. Select Add/Remove programs;
3. Select “Rising PC Doctor”, and click “Remove”.
To remove the program completely from your computer, select “Delete installation directory” in the uninstall dialog box and reboot your computer.

Home” Tab

From the “Home” tab of Rising PC Doctor you can access the most common functions:
Online, Diagnosis, Leaks, Scan for Spyware, Scan for Trojans, Private Info, One Click Action
When connected to the Internet, the information center displays recent security and product news.
Below the Information Center you find links to the four functions you will use most:
Local Protection:
Configure system monitors and prevent malware intrusion.
Scan for Spyware
Scan and remove any loaded spyware.
Leaks
Scan your computer for vulnerabilities and insecure settings.
Internet Protection
Additional protection while you are surfing the Internet.

Tab “Automatic Protection”

When you click on Automatic Protection > Local Protection you can configure the four AutoProtection modules. Click Enable/Disable to activate/deactivate the respective monitor.
Auto Online Diagnosis
Scan at startup for potential malware.
When you click on “Advanced Settings”, you can configure the diagnosis frequency: Daily, weekly, monthly. You can decide whether to scan the memory, key OS parts or both.
Immunize USB Media
Malware often spreads via USB drives and MP3 players. “Immunize USB Media” prevents such malware from infecting your computer.
Auto Repair OS
Scan for vulnerabilities and unsafe settings in Windows and other 3rd party software.
Trojan Interceptor
Stops Trojans and other malware before they can load and harm your computer.

Tab “Automatic Protection”>“Internet Protection”

When you click on Automatic Protection > Internet Protection you can configure the three Internet Protection modules of Rising PC Doctor. Click Enable/Disable to activate/deactivate the respective monitor:
URL Alert
Warns you before visiting many malicious sites. Click “Custom Website Blacklist” to adjust the blacklist to your needs. Click “Report suspicious sites” to report potentially suspicious sites.
Internet Explorer (IE) Protection
Monitors and protects your computer when malware tries to invade your computer system though the Internet Explorer.
Trojan Download Blocker
Our advanced Trojan interception technology blocks malware such as Trojan downloaders before they can invade your computer.

Tab “Common Functions” >“Online Diagnosis”

Scans key parts of your operating system for potentially malicious software. Rising PC Doctor always retrieves the newest threat information from the Rising online diagnosis system. Potentially malicious files can be directly transferred to Rising for further analysis. Click “Smart clean” to remove detected malware. Click “Previous reports” to check which files you have previously reported to Rising.

Vulnerability Scan

Click “Leaks” and Rising PC Doctor will check your computer for common vulnerabilities. Click Setup> Threat Setup to configure which vulnerabilities you want Rising PC Doctor to check for. In the “System Vulnerability” tab of the Advanced Settings window you can configure where you want to download patches from.
Step 1: When vulnerabilities are detected, click “Details“to fix the problem:

Step 2: In the window “OS vulnerability” select the patch you want to install and click “Fix vulnerabilities”
Step 3: Rising PC Doctor will download and install the patch you selected.

Step 4: Click “Finish” to close the window. After the installation of certain patches a restart may be required.

Scan for Spyware

Click Common Functions > Scan for Spyware and Rising PC Doctor will check your computer for spyware. When spyware is detected, select the threat you want to remove or click “Select all” and click “Remove now.”When you see spyware marked as “Active”it tells you that this particular is installed on your computer. When only traces can be found, the status will be “Exist”

Scan for Current Trojans
Trojans are often mass produced for a certain purpose such as stealing accounts of a certain online game and have a very short lifespan. Therefore, the protection against current Trojans is very important for your overall security.

Click Common Functions > Scan for Trojans and Rising PC Doctor will check your computer for current Trojans. Select the target to scan and click “Start Scan.”Any findings will be displayed listing the name of the Trojan, the name of the infected file and the infection status. Select the Trojan you want to remove or click “Select all” and click “Kill now” to remove the infection. Click “View log history” to see the records of previous scans.

Delete Private Info
Protect your privacy and delete the history and other usage information with a few mouse clicks. Click Common Functions > Private Info, select the program history you want to delete or click “Select all.”Click “Remove” to delete the selected history.

One Click Action
With One click Action you can easily initiate the three most common maintenance tasks:
• Auto remove current Trojans:
Scans your computer system and automatically removes current Trojans.
• Auto remove spyware
Scans your computer system and automatically removes any spyware.
• Auto repair system
Scans your computer system and automatically repairs damaged items.

Local Protection
The Local Protection modules of Rising PC Doctor will increase your security significantly. To configure your local protection, click Automatic Protection > Local Protection. Click Enable/Disable to activate/deactivate the respective monitor.

To access the Advanced Settings of Auto Online Diagnosis or Auto Repair OS, you have to disable the module first. In the Auto Diagnostic Setup window, you can configure the diagnosis frequency: daily, weekly or monthly. Auto Repair OS offers advanced setting possibilities. To access the Advanced Settings of Auto Online Diagnosis, you have to disable the module first. In the Auto Diagnostic Setup window, you can configure the diagnosis frequency: daily, weekly or monthly. In the “Advanced Settings” window of Auto Repair OS you will find three tabs:
System Vulnerability
Configure where Rising PC Doctor will download system patches from. Default configuration is “Download patches from Microsoft website.”
Threat Setup
Decide which vulnerabilities Rising PC Doctor should check your system for.
Auto Scan
Decide how often you want Rising PC Doctor to check for vulnerabilities: Daily, weekly, monthly
Immunize USB Media
Malware often spreads via USB drives and mobile media players. This function will stop malware on USB media from infecting your computer.
Trojan Interceptor
Stops Trojans and other malware before they can load and harm your computer.
Internet Protection
The Internet Protection modules of Rising PC Doctor will increase your security while you are surfing the Internet. To configure your Internet protection, click Automatic Protection > Internet Protection. Click Enable/Disable to activate/deactivate the respective monitor.

URL Alert
This module will warn you before visiting malicious sites. Click “Custom Website Blacklist” to add further malicious sites to the blacklist. Please also report such sites by clicking “Report suspicious
IE Protection
Monitors and protects your computer when malware tries to invade your system through the browser.
“Enable code overflow protection” is activated by default.
Trojan Download Blocker
Our advanced Trojan interception technology blocks malware such as Trojan downloaders before they can infect your computer.

System Repair
When you click Expert Tools > System Repair, Rising PC Doctor will automatically check your system integrity. Many problems which often plague users are common problems. Problems will be displayed in the window shown below. Select “Refresh” to rescan your system. Select items you want to restore and click “Repair”. “Hide objects which do not need repair” is active as default.

Empty Bin
Click Expert Tools > Empty Bin to remove unnecessary files from your computer system. Select the files you want to delete or click “Select all” and click “Clear all”. With “Start Scan” You can rescan your system.

Start Up Control
Advanced users will appreciate the Start up Control function of Rising PC Doctor. When you click Expert Tools > Start up Control your computer systems will be scanned and you can browse a wide variety of information:

Process Manager
The Process Manager is another function for advanced users. Click Expert Tools > Process Manager and you can view the processes active in your system.

Click “Reload” to refresh the list. Click “Find module” to locate modules on your system.

With “Find window” you can quickly collect details about windows opened by processes.
Right click a list entry to get more information about the particular process. For known safe processes you can select “Trust it.”

Connected Applications
Click Expert Tools > Connected Apps. and you can view all applications on your system that have currently established a network connection.
Displayed is the following information:

Right click any entry to get additional information:

Service Manager
Advanced users can use the service manager to detect and terminate potential malicious services. When you click Expert Tools > Service Manager Rising PC Doctor will scan the services on your computer. Right click any list entry to get additional information. Click “Refresh” to scan your computer again.

LSP Fix
When malware renders your network connection unusable, you can use this function and try to repair Winsock and restore normal operation. When you click Expert Tools > LSP Fix, Rising PC Doctor will scan your system and display recommendations in the column “Repair”. Select items that need to be fixed and click “Repair”.
File Shredder
Even non-expert users can recover confidential files that you deleted with the Windows Explorer. We strongly suggest that you use the file shredder to erase confidential files permanently.

Click the folder icon in the upper right corner and locate the file you want to erase permanently. Click “File shredder” to delete it permanently.
Online Assistance
Diagnosis Log
When asked by Rising customer service, click Online Assistance > Diagnosis Log > Start Scan. Select the items to export, click “Export file” and attach the log file to your email.
Online Scanner
Click Online Assistance > Online Scanner and check your computer with Rising Online Scanner.

Top Software
On the “Top Software” tab you can find our software recommendations for instant messengers, download managers and other tools. Rising PC Doctor will further recommend exciting free online games and non-commercial projects such as World Community Grid, whose mission is “to create the largest public computing grid benefiting humanity.”
